Three Eggs & A Mishap

The bidding results are out... They're some names on every god damn class list... amazes me that 160 people want to trade in F&O... anyways, that's ISB for you...
Looks like I'll have the privelege of attending Bijnoor's Rural Marketing... I would have gladly done so in Term 7, but the earlier the better...
Spoke to a few alums and think I pretty much know where I want to go... Let's see if I get there...
Was late for class in the morning... third time in a row... It's just that a very odd thing happens every morning, I start making eggs for breakfast (for my quaddie and me)... and I always ruin one egg... then I wash the pan again... and clear the kitchen top... and start again...and invariably end up late...
As I started today, I could almost see myself crack the shell into the pan, and sure enough that's what I did...Same pattern for a week... very freaky...

Stars and Shapes of Life

Life's lived in a series of shapes...
Circles - It all comes back to you...
Stars - occasionally you trace out a perfect star, and the wonder of going over the boundaries never ceases to amaze you...
Triangles - We all know enough about those...
Squares - Things are so mechanical that they don't affect you at a deeper level
Parallel Lines - No matter what you do, somethings are always out of reach and in hindsight it's better that way...
Voids - The hardest of them is no shape at all...
I'm scared of voids... scared of being alone...

How you doing?

It's been pouring since last night and shows absolutely no signs of stopping... not my favourite weather... its awful when your feet get wet and you have to sit through a client meeting while your'e freezing infront of his AC...
Made some headway on the ELP project... looks like we will have to go to bombay in the term break... Got a lot of work charted out for those 10 days... Looks like I can get away for a weekend in November... n lord alone knows how badly I need to...
Sometimes I think that am just pathetic... some times I think I am doing okay... other times I think I could do better... Guess there's comfort in grey areas... and if there is... why does it feel like am stuck between a rock and a hard place...

Have a nice day...

We had Tina Dacin's class today... It might be a 'woman' thing, but I thought that hers was the best class we have had so far... The fact that a professor can value add was so apparent today with the sea change between Class 5 and Class 6... I'm beginning to understand and appreciate that courses without statistics and calculus are perhaps equally if not more relevant today...
It's been simply awful today... just wet and damp and cold outside... possibly more miserable outside than within... that's not a bad thing...
Heard about AJ's adventure... the cops finally rescued them... those guys are a real riot...but they atleast make the best of their weekend...I'm determined to do so this weekend...
Aftermath of the three classes... too tired to write... too tired to make toast... too tired to change my clothes... too tired to call...but if your'e reading this.... Have a nice day!

good intentions...

This term has been unreal... unreally boring... unreally uninspiring... unreally fast...
I've done two things (academically speaking) that I never thought I'd do after my undergrad... I haven't read before my classes... and have even skipped some altogether... but like I said.. I've had good intentions... just can't motivate myself to do anything about them...
This is the last term that we are together as a section... so there's lots of 'section' efforts ... section t-shirt day... section party... even a pyjama slumber planned at one of the girls studio's... I think the last time I had a pyjama party was in 99...
I've got my client call today... hope we all get serious after this...as the current state of the ELP is plain pathetic... I heard a confession today... and even though it wasn't a total surprise... the timing really caught me off guard... guess life's lived through a series of special moments... and I had one this afternoon...

Sweet Siesta... and new beginnings...

Have had a hellish week... with SAIT presentation and all the assignments.. it has been 4 hours of sleep everyday... i couldn't keep my eyes open even after a double coffee... but that's partly attributable to ' Management of Organisations'...
Just surfaced from the most fulfilling siesta... actually thought am home sleeping in my bed...
now all I need is a cup of earl grey... but there's only tetley 'masala tea' at home... :(
life is good... made some amends today... and am so glad that we currently share a 'mutual' + 'mature' approach to things...
Trying to book for a weekend in Nov... wanna go home... P called... she's coming from London for the wedding... the least I can do is show up on a Sat morning and take a flight back on Sunday morning... am sure I can manage that...
I had better get back to 'Konkan Railway'... when is this going to end.......

Love for Life

Love for life is perhaps the singlemost important thing one has to understand... It's a hard world out there... but you can't possibly let every schmuck you meet bog you down... As a friend put it to me a couple of nights ago... you have one shot... and as I reflect, it's not about getting it right or making it work... It's about being able to take a shot even when you feel out of focus... out of zest ... out of luck...
My focus is still not so blurred that I can't aim... my energy is not so low that I can't beat every able minded person... my luck's not running out anytime soon either...

Secretly Glad

I don't know if its the term... or my change in attitude... there seems to be a lot less to do... so I've finally caught up on loads of television... it got so bad I actually saw some BnB... (shruti's fav, not mine)...
The only subject thats seeming increasingly irrelevant is MO... how can we generalize like that... and pretend like it's actually worthy for a core term credit...
B is making thai food... might just go over after assignment in case he's made some red thai chicken curry... I haven't had that in such a long time...
My quadmate's finally over with her IT presentation and she's caught up with her sleep... so tonight's gonna be one gossip session...
All in all... life's moving on... the way it ought to... the way it does when you want it to stop... the way it does whether it delights you or overwhelms you... and am secretly glad...

Been through all four classes of this term... and I don't particularly detest any course or professor... only sore point being the schedule... we have classes on Friday and workshops for ELP on Sunday...
In class discussion in Government Business and Society the topic of the 'tarai' region came up... and ever since I've been thinking of all the summer vacations I spent with my grand folks at the farm... climbing the mango trees... going for tractor rides... the slow speed of the ceiling fan when the electricity's gone and there's just a little generator power left... the 'lichi' farm dada dadi... getting soaked near the tubewells... playing in the emptied fish ponds when the seasons over... rides upto Nainital, the candy floss and shooting games... 'keta' and 'keti' who were 'Leela's' children and they lived nearby and came to play with me in the evenings... wonder where they are now... the little earthen oven near the cattle area where the servants used to make their tea... the ever so cute calves ... and the foul looking vet who gave all the cows injections... and for some strange reason I remember a lot of kraft cheese spread for breakfast...
It's funny and strange... how places mean so much and when the people are gone all that is left is memories... It's not half as sad that you lose people who are closest to you... It's sadder still when you forget to remember them as often as you ought to....

pancakes, vanilla muffins & new course packs

If we club together all Monday morning blues for six weeks you get the deepest shade of blue - the day before term starts blues... There's that awful feeling that engulfs you that it's all starting again... especially for those of us who are doing ELPs which means we aren't really gonna get a term break in October...
but muffins help... and pancakes do wonders at sarovar's sunday breakfast... I started reading the 'Management of Organisations' bulkpack and I already know that this is going to be a painful class at 8:30 ... but am looking forward to the Investments class as we really rushed through Corp Fin last term and ended up learning very less...
This terms also very crucial as I need to figure out where I am headed and start some ground work for placements... can't believe that it's term 4 already... this year's bound to fly past...

power of good sense

Time heals... courage heals... good sense heals the fastest...
How many time have we spent months or days (for some unfortunates... even years) hating someone or dreading something or wishing away realities... as cliched as it may sound... just plain common sense of facing the truth and facing it standing up is all it takes... and I tried that today... and I know I've taken my first step.

Back to the grind...

Can't believe I stayed back at school for these classes... they were truly pathetic...
One would assume that your intelligence levels are credited for more than this... guess ASA thinks otherwise...
Think I'll call my parents over for a long weekend in the term break... and we could go someplace nearby for a break...
Term starts monday... bought the books that I won't read...
It's a hectic schedule... classes on Fri as well... but as per the alums, fourth term is the coolest... So I won't crib yet atleast...
Think the only horrid part of being here is that I don't get to see Boots and Buster...
(AJ I hope that answers your question ;))

sunnier days...

its definitely a lot sunnier now... things are clearer... maybe they always were... maybe I just didn't want to see...
head throbs with pain... and my eyes haven't been redder... but this is the worst it can get... there I go again... the eternal optimist...
try to be mature... but there are hard feelings... the past few months have taught me a lot... but will I ever learn enough to avoid this situation again? I can only hope so...

my first...

have been contemplating to blog for ages... so here it is... my first...
have been having an awful week so far... hopefully the weekend will be sunnier...
it's funny how we learn and unlearn so quickly especially where our dealings with people are concerned...
someone once said, "look at the positives and the good in people"... I couldn't disagree more... but I know my naievette will make me once again unlearn my own conviction...
